Meet Canyon Falls’ new yoga teacher, Kruti Ravaliya

Canyon Falls is excited to announce weekly yoga classes as one of our newest resident activities.

Classes are led by Canyon Falls resident Kruti Ravaliya, a certified yoga teacher who recently moved here with her husband and three young children.

Kruti finished her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2016, and soon began teaching nonprofit and corporate classes in the Washington, D.C. area, along with private sessions for adults and children.

At Canyon Falls, she wants to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome in her yoga classes, whether they’re beginners or experienced, and regardless of how they rate their level of fitness and flexibility.

Based on the early and overwhelming response to a trial series of classes early this spring, the regular weekly classes on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings should be very well-attended. They take place inside the Canyon Falls Club.

Kruti says many students have told her they feel more energy and flexibility after just a few sessions of yoga.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, scientific research has uncovered benefits of yoga including improved strength, balance and flexibility; relief from back pain and arthritis symptoms; less stress and better sleep.

Connecting with a supportive community is another benefit of yoga, and Kruti looks forward to meeting more of her neighbors on the mat.

“Through all my years of teaching, I’ve seen that yoga can be a unique way for people from different backgrounds to bond,” she said.

Kruti and her husband, Paul, are both fully remote employees of the federal government. Living in the Washington, D.C. area but with the freedom to live anywhere, they decided to look for a new home for their growing family.

With three children ranging from one to 5 years old, strong schools were a top priority. They wanted to find a more spacious home with a yard for the kids to play in, at a cost that would be more affordable relative to East Coast prices.

After considering places from coast to coast, their search ultimately led them to North Texas and Canyon Falls, where they’ve been very happy since moving in last summer.

Come and meet Kruti and some of your fellow neighbors each week at the Canyon Falls Club!
