4 spectacular July 4 celebrations near Canyon Falls

July 4 comes on a Sunday this year, so we can look forward to a full weekend of spirited Independence Day celebrations. Here are our top 4 festivities for July 4, happening in nearby cities around Canyon Falls including Grapevine, Roanoke, Flower Mound and Southlake.

Grapevine

Set to patriotic music, Grapevine’s 39th Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza starts at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. You can view the fireworks from several viewing areas surrounding the shoreline of this 8,000-acre lake, which provides an amazing reflection of the sky above. Entry or parking fees may apply depending on the viewing site. You can find details and a video of last year’s fireworks display at their website.

Roanoke’s July 3

Just a few miles from Canyon Falls, Roanoke will have its 3rd Rocks Independence Day festivities on July 3, with live music, carnival games and rides, and of course fabulous fireworks. There’ll also be a pie-eating contest and plenty of all-American food. This quaint town is known as the Unique Dining Capital of Texas, with more than 60 restaurants in the walkable historic downtown area and events such as live music concerts throughout the year.

Flower Mound’s Fest

Flower Mound’s Independence Fest 2021 will kicks off with the annual Children’s Parade on July 3. On July 4, the festivities move to the evening, with live music by Le Freak and the Josh Abbott Band, followed by a fireworks finale at around 9:50 p.m. Located at Bakersfield Park, this free event will also include a kid’s zone, a car show, a showcase of local vendors and food trucks.

Southlake’s Stars & Stripes

From live music to fireworks, there’s a little bit of something for everyone in Southlake’s annual Stars & Stripes festivities on July 3. The fun is spread out over three Southlake parks and includes live music by the Southlake Community Band, the Southlake Swing Band and the two headliners, Emerald City and Michael Hix & the Holla. Family activities include balloon artists, stilt walkers, strolling characters and temporary tattoos. The Kids Corner will have games including a gigantic inflatable corn hole and a giant Jenga. There’ll also be plenty of food vendors offering everything from BBQ and corn dogs, to ice cream and Mexican food.
